Booking

The campervan hire booking form must be completed and sent to us with a non refundable booking deposit of £100. This can be made by bank transfer or paid by cheque.  Cheque should be made payable to Julie Parnaby. Cheques for bookings can only be accepted if it is more than two weeks before the start hire date.

On receipt of the completed booking form and your deposit, we shall confirm the hire by email or in writing to your address, and this contract comes into effect when we post that confirmation to you. The balance of the hire charge must be paid at least 6 weeks before the start of the hire period.  Failing this, we reserve the right to rent out the vehicle to someone else and keep your booking deposit.

Booking  - Security deposit

The Security Deposit of £500 must be paid in cash or cheque before you will be allowed to drive the vehicle. This is to cover any damage to the vehicle. Our insurers charge us £600 excess and the difference would be passed onto you should a claim be necessary. The security deposit would also be used for additional cleaning service charge, late return charge, and any road tolls or fines for charges arising from traffic or parking offences that have occurred during the rental period. This is fully refundable subject to the safe return of the vehicle in the condition it left our premises. Deposits will be refunded no less than 7 days after the final day of hire. Cheques will only be cashed should we need to cover some of the above costs.  

Cancellation

Please note your 20% booking deposit is not refundable once your booking has been confirmed by us. In the event that you wish to cancel a booking:

        6 - 8  weeks prior to departure – 50% hire charge will be refunded (less your non-refundable      booking deposit)

         Less than 6 weeks prior to departure – no hire charges will be refunded.

Hirers are advised to arrange their own holiday insurance to safeguard against such losses.

Collection times and days

Collection is generally 2:30 pm or after on the first day of hire. Collection days are normally Monday and Friday. Other days and times by arrangement where possible.

Return times

The vehicle should be returned by 10:30 am on the last day of hire. We will allow up to one hour grace after this time. Up to two hours late will incur a £40 charge. More than two hours late will incur an extra full day’s hire charge.

Car storage

You are welcome to leave your car at our premises. We have off road parking and your vehicle must be left at your own risk.


Collection service

Collection points may be possible by prior arrangement.

Fuel

The campervan K200 AVA  uses unleaded petrol.  The campervan K200 TOB uses diesel.  We will ensure a full tank of fuel is provided and should be returned as the same.

Insurance

Our insurers have a £500 excess against any claims. The temporary insurance comes into effect at 2:30pm on the first day of hire and expires at 2:30pm on the last day of hire.

The policyholder and any additional driver holding a UK Driving Licence must:

         Hold a current, valid, full UK driving licence, and have done so for at least 12 months. The name and address shown on your driving licence must be the same as the name and address on the insurance policy

         Be aged 25 years or over

         Have had no motoring offence involving alcohol or drugs, careless, dangerous or reckless driving or taking a vehicle without consent in the last 3 years. This includes all convictions with the Conviction Offence Code prefixes DR, CD, DD or UT

         Have had no disqualifications in the last 3 years

         Have had no more than 2 fault claims in any 3 year period

         Have no more than 8 penalty points

         Have not been convicted within the last 5 years of any offence relating to fraud, robbery, theft or handling stolen goods including any pending prosecution or police enquiry

         Only use the car for social, domestic and pleasure purposes or business use by the policyholder excluding the carriage of passengers or goods for hire or reward

 

Driving Licence and Personal Details

 

         I understand that the driving licence details that I provide in the purchase of insurance will be subject to a verification process

         I agree that the details I provide can be passed on to an outside agency for the purpose of cross-referencing and verification of both my driving licence details and driving history with the DVLA

         I consent to the DVLA (or driving licence issuing authority outside the UK) providing dayinsure.com, their servants or agents with such information as may be requested by dayinsure.com or their agents

         I consent to disclosure of my personal details for this purpose, and consent to dayinsure.com obtaining details about my driving licence and driving history for the purpose of establishing my eligibility for their insurance product

 

Accidents

In the event of any accident, the hirer must notify us immediately. An accident report form must be completed and returned to the owners at the end of the hire period. The hirer is not authorised to instruct any repairs without the permission of the owners. If possible, photograph any damage to our vehicle and any third party vehicle.

You should also:

         Obtain the names and addresses of third parties and any witnesses and report the event to the nearest police station.

         Not make any admission of liability to other parties, settlement offer or other like offer.

Breakdowns

We have breakdown and recovery service for roadside and overnight location assistance, included in the hire charge. If the company is unable to repair the vehicle, they will transport you, your passengers and the vehicle to our premises. The hirer should also make us aware of any breakdown.

 Tyres

 You are liable for the cost of any damage or punctures. In the event that a tyre is returned damaged at the end of your hire, it will be at our discretion whether to repair or replace it. If you have a puncture during your hire you may use the breakdown service to replace the tyre.

 

Windscreen

We should be contacted immediately about windscreen damage to the vehicle. We will make arrangements for the windscreen to be inspected. If the windscreen can be repaired, there will be no charge, if the windscreen needs a replacement, your access will apply.

Seat belts

You must use seatbelts. You should only carry the amount of people that there are seatbelts for. The camper is equipped with seatbelts for the driver, front seat passenger and there are two lap belts for passengers travelling in the rear.

Pets

No pets can be carried in the rented vehicle unless requested in writing and approved by us. Any damage repair costs or extra valeting costs caused because of or by a pet travelling in the vehicle, must be paid for by the hirer.  

Smoking

Please do not smoke in the camper or the awning. Any damage caused by the hirer as a result of smoking, may be liable to loss of some or all of their security deposit.

Keys

Should the keys be lost or damaged, you will be liable for the reasonable costs of obtaining replacements. If the keys are lost or locked in the vehicle, please notify us immediately. Do not attempt to retrieve them from the vehicle yourselves.

Camping Gas

You will be supplied with one camping gas cylinders in the vehicle, Should the gas cylinder run out, it is your responsibility to acquire a refill, keep the receipt and we will reimburse you for this.


Release of Indemnity

 Although we want you to have the van of your choice, we must allow for unforeseen circumstances.  We reserve the right to provide you with a suitable alternative, without notice, upon collection.  Should a substitute not be available, our liability is limited to a full refund of monies received by Campervans4hire.

Subject to our obligation to supply a vehicle, the hirer will release us and our employees and agents from any liability (regardless of who is at fault) for loss or damage incurred by me by reason of this agreement, including but not limited to:

         Any loss or damage caused by breakdown, mechanical defect, accident or the vehicle being unsuitable for the hirer’s purpose.

         Any loss or damage to any property left in or on the vehicle.

You agree to, subject to any insurance arrangements agreed with us, hereby indemnify and shall keep indemnified, Campervans4hire, its employees and agents against any claims, demands and expenses (including legal costs) incurred or sustained by them or any of them by reason of my use and/or possession of the vehicle.
